Almost Easter

Almost Easter

This week was good.  We had our Baptism, where I played interlude soooooo  that happened. But it was great! We have some more coming up after conference!

This week was full of everything.  I don’t know If I have mentioned it but we do English classes for the community, but I love it.  But what I don’t like is the paper the city gave us to use.  The missionaries run into so many problems.  I had to teach the difference between a.m. and p.m.  They asked me what it meant, I just told them it was too complicated, to cover up the fact that I don’t really remember! And don’t ask me to translate the word "hang out".  But the best part is teaching it with sister Marrett with her Australian accent, we confuse everyone! But anyway this week was good I will send pictures of the baptism next week because this computer will not accept my usb card!!

I love you all and enjoy conference with me!!

The word of the prophets is the word of God!!
I love you all and I know that this church is true!

I know that God knows and loves each one of his children!
When you take time to look you can see his love in everything!
Take time to look this week!
Because Jesus lives! Everything is possible!

I know He rose the third day.

Well that was a fun week

Well that was a fun week.

Okay this week! Umm yeah so this week we were able to have an open house with the ward.  Basically we invite our investigators and we walk them through the chapel and the president of the primary talks about what they do and on and on and we move rooms.  It was really fun and our investigators really liked it.

Then this last Saturday was our baptisms we had two convert baptisms and one primary baptism! It was so great I loved it so much!

Yesterday we had our ward conference and we had over 15 investigators come. I was having a blast talking to all my investigators. And later that night we had a stake choir concert where all the wards sang songs about Easter, and two of our investigators sang with our ward! The things I love about being in the city are all the activities we have!

Today we were able to go on a hike! It was so beautiful, we hiked up to a waterfall and we crossed rivers and ate fruit, found massive eels, and I didn’t even fall once!

So basically this week was a success!

Tonight I’m going to make some hot chocolate from this massive chocolate bean I got in the wilderness.  I’m going to feel a little bit like an Oompa Loompa.  If you don’t hear about it it’s because it didn’t turn out.
I am happy we were able to help some of our investigators to baptism and please pray for our baptism this Saturday!

I love you all so much and I am grateful for the example you all have given me throughout my life! I am grateful for this work, and the blessings and happiness I have each day because of it!

Happy Birthday Elder Doit

Hello everyone! This week was actually really really good! We were able to fix three more baptism dates for the 28 March!! And with three coming up for this Saturday we are pretty busy, but it’s a good busy!

This week I have had a lot of little blessings! This week we were able to do another sondage (a questionnaire where we find people who are interested to talk to missionaries) so I went with a new convert from another ward and we just roamed a few streets looking for some people to help and do our little questionnaire, so we were walking when satan in the form of a dog leaped at us! Oh my gosh thank all heavens he with tied up and I was just far enough away.

So the owner came out and he invited us in, we sat down and he tells us his name is Erik and he is 70 years old, told us his life story a little a lot bit, and then he tells us that the problem with our world is money, then he asked us what the cure is. I did not know what to say I was deciding between Jesus, love and, thrift stores when he got up and left the room. He came back with a guitar in hand he looks us in the eyes and says "music”.  Soon after followed three world cleansing songs and I was actually quite happy with my luck for that day! So all in all Erik was really interested in talking with missionaries so I hope the missionaries in that area have fun with my friend Erik!

The best part was after when my little member companion tells me that his friend was on his way to pick us up, and it turns out to be Thomas! I don’t think I have mentioned him in any emails but I taught him in my first sector and he came to church every Sunday. When I left to Tahaa he moved back to his house in Faaa, took the lessons and got baptized and how I was doing sondage with him! Oh my gosh I was so happy!

Oh yeah and today was my companion’s birthday, so we went to the park to play games, and the choices were Monopoly and Risk............ Happy Birthday with the two most long and boring games ever!
So I chose Monopoly and I cannot believe how competitive people got! Hahaha It was Tahiti version so I just went around buying all my old areas!!

But this week was good; I may have umm misplaced my usb card sooo pictures will come next week! Sorry! But I love you all so much and have a good week!

I swear that dog had an evil tiki spirit in em. It basically had glowing red eyes!

Have a good week my family I love you all so much

We had a family night and a member shared a little quote that I really liked

She asked, "What’s the price of one soul?"

Then she replied  "The life of a God"

I know the Jesus Christ died for us all so that we all might live again.
It was a great price and it was paid.

Love you all

My family and friends! I don’t have a whole lot of time this week but this week was good.  We are having some baptisms fixed for the end of the month! We are seeing a lot of miracles! But everything is well! I will send some pictures next week of my sector! It’s not like my old area hahaha! But I love it! I know this Gospel is true! I know that God lives and that we are his Children! These are the little things that make all the difference in this life! Have a good week my friends! Know I love you all and I pray for all of you!

You’re all the best

Getting Used to Things

Getting Used to Things

This week was pretty good.  We have found a lot of new investigators and had quite a few lessons. I know how to missionary in the city! Also I got my car again.  I like it here, but people are not the same.  They’re so French and missing the island charm, but the area is great.  And compared to my other two sectors the ward is massive! So big, but nothing we cant handle!
So today we played beach soccer with the zone, and ate sandwiches in the rain.  In the zone of Faaa there are 5 missionaries who came with me so it’s just a party all the time!
And just to help those who might not know when you say Faaa, you have to say faa,a there’s always a glottal stop when you have two of the same letters next to each other! So remember that!
So yeah also this week we found a new investigator who started his own church and his job is talking to babies! So...yeah. He’s interesting.
But all is well, and last week we got invited to chop down some forest with machetes.  That’s the worst! I didn’t know blisters could form in seconds! What’s up with that?  I was chopping trees so funny with both my hands to avoid the blisters! And it just gave me more! I’m almost recovered!
Well I think that’s all for today! I love you all and I pray for you!
 Have a good week!

:)

Bonus Track from email to Darleen.

but before I tell you anything else I have to tell you  guys a story because I’ve been dying!!!  So it was Friday and we were going around another missionaries area doing a little questionnaire to help them find new people to teach.  So basically we were roaming around having no idea where we were going asking people questions.  Well anyway I find this house and yell IORANA and this old guy and his son come and talk to us.  Well my companion starts talking to the son so I talk with the guy and he loves the questionnaire!  So he tells me to come into his house and so I dragged my companion with me because I didn’t want to lose the guy because he bolted off.   I soon find myself in his living room/chapel.  So I am a little creeped but I kept talking to him, and then we get to the question "do you believe that miracles still exist?" and he looks at me and asks "is talking to a baby in his mothers womb a miracle?" Okay for me that’s a little weird but I couldn’t lie that’s a miracle!   Well he continues to tell me that that’s what he does for his work! so I was thinking like dog whisperer type thing, but he talks to babies! So I was a little wierded out and I wondered why it wasn’t me talking to his son! Well long story short, he started his own church, and there’s an alien named Yetty who will come visit them soon! He is crazy! But he might be a potential investigator!
